YBS installs ‘IT vending machines’

Staff at Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) will soon be able to pick up replacement IT equipment through self-service vending machines. The building society is piloting the initiative in association with its managed services supplier Computacenter. The machines will be stocked with a selection of frequently used accessories such as headsets, chargers and mice. Access to equipment will be possible using existing employee ID cards, which create a transactional audit trail and facilitate the re-stocking process.
