Metro Bank lists on London Stock Exchange

Metro Bank was floated on the London Stock Exchange this morning, with a value at listing of £1.6 billion. The bank’s CEO, Craig Donaldson, its founder and chairman Vernon Hill, two new apprentices – Olivia Giuri and Raheem Zwane – and Mr Hill’s dog, Sir Duffield, were invited to open trading for the day at the LSE by way of celebration. Shares opened trading almost 10 per cent above their placement price. Metro is the sixth challenger bank to be listed on the exchange in the past two years and brings the value of this sub-sector to £7.4 billion.
