Our client, a leading VMware specialist and professional services consultancy, is looking for two Vmware Consultant to join on a short-term contract (Initial 28 days)
The project encompasses several critical phases, including the discovery of existing environments, requirements capture, design, deployment, upgrades, migration assistance, and decommissioning of old clusters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Discovery of Existing Virtualised Infrastructure
- Gather and analyse the customer’s needs and expectations for the new infrastructure.
- Install and configure new servers, integrating them into a new vSAN ESA-based cluster.
- Update in-scope environments, including VMware vCenter Server, VMware NSX components, VMware Aria Operations, and VMware Aria for Logs, to support the upgrade to VMware vSphere 8.
- Facilitate the migration of virtual machines from the old cluster to the new hyper-converged cluster.
- Decommission the old cluster, including its hosts, from vCenter and NSX.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience in virtualised infrastructure projects, particularly with VMware technologies.
- Strong understanding of VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and Aria Operations.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing IT infrastructure solutions.
- Hands-on experience with server deployment and configuration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to capture and analyse customer requirements effectively.
