Our client, a trusted provider of technical services to the UK infrastructure is in need of a Data Scientist, hands-on, technically strong and who is eager to lead the client’s data science efforts and grow with the role over time. If you’re the kind of person who thrives in an environment that encourages experimentation, but can also operate effectively within the structure of an organisation, this role is for you.  This role could suit a current Data Scientist or a senior BI Analyst who has recently transitioned towards Data Science

This is a pivotal role for someone eager to grow their career, influence the direction of data science at an enterprise level, and work with legacy systems and emerging technologies.

You’ll bring a solid analytical background—ideally from maths, physics, or data science—and a strong track record of delivering results. This role combines technical delivery, ownership, and creative freedom with the opportunity to shape how data science is utilised across their business.

Key Responsibilities will include

  • Leading the development of data science models and solutions that have a real business impact.
  • Design and iterate on machine learning and statistical models with measurable outcomes.
  • Champion the use of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI in the analytics stack.
  • Help shape technical direction, code quality, and best practices in data science.
  • Explore and test new tools, frameworks, and modelling approaches—then scale what work.

Key Skills Needed:

  • A background and higher qualifications Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in a hands-on data science or advanced analytics role.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI in a production environment.
  • Strong skills in Python (e.g. Pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy) or R.
  • Proficient in SQL and working with relational databases.
  • Experience building and deploying statistical or machine learning models.
  • Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Azure.

At this point we can only consider candidates eligible to work in the UK.

The role is based in the City of London, with a hybrid working model and good flexibility to support home-based commitments.

The position comes with a discretionary bonus structure and generous holiday allowance.
