Internet giant Google is piloting a âHands Freeâ payments app, which allows users to make in-store purchases without reaching for their phone or wallet. A limited trial of the new technology â which uses visual identification â is currently running in South Bay, California, and includes the likes of McDonaldâs and Papa Johns. US customers looking to try out the system need to download the Hands Free app, which is available for Android handsets running Jelly Bean version 4.2 and above, and to iPhone users with a 4S or above.
