Banks prep for UK Android Pay roll-out

HSBC, Lloyds Bank, Nationwide, M&S Bank, First Direct and Bank of Scotland will be among the first financial institutions to support the forthcoming UK launch of Android Pay. Payment networks MasterCard and Visa are also onboard for the roll-out, happening “in the next few months” according to Google. Customers with Android-operated smartphones will be able use Android Pay in all retailers where contactless payments are accepted – representing 460,000 payment terminals across the country.
