Are you a Business Analyst with excellent communication skills, systems experience and the ability to influence stakeholders, internal customers and establish good vendor relationships? Our client, a major player in their field, is updating their bespoke ERP system to a newer version with enhanced functionality. This will be an impactful role for our client as your efforts will ensure their business remains competitive and reactive to the markets

What will you be doing:

The Business Analyst (BA) focuses on improving business efficiency through both incremental and project-based change. The BA will be instrumental in the end-to-end upgrade of the CTRM/ERP ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration between front-office trading, middle-office risk management, and back-office finance/logistics. You will be the focal point of ensuring any proposed change is fully understood and bought into by the users.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Investigate and analyse business problems or opportunities and provide suggestions for improvements.
  • Analyse the effect of change and define change success measures.
  • Translate user needs and process improvements into detailed software requirements definitions that can be accurately estimated and prioritised. Specifying data, data objects and information flows that align with the needs of the business.
  • Gap Analysis: BA must specifically identify where the “out-of-the-box” software fails to meet unique business requirements.
  • User Acceptance Testing Leadership.
  • Identify “soft” changes in e.g. behaviour that need to happen to realise the full benefits of any change, and propose strategies to ensure changes happen and “stick”.
  • Develop training material and deliver to users to ensure new skills are developed and previous ways of working are retired.

What Experience will you need:

  • Business Analysis. Significant previous experience in business analysis including:

o Process mapping and analysis.

o Data and information modelling and flows.

o Stakeholder communication.

o Workshop facilitation.

o Software development specification.

o Software test definition and execution.

CTRM/ERP Expertise:

Proven experience supporting and/or implementing a major Commodities Trading Risk Management or Enterprise Resource Planning system. e.g. Understanding of physical vs financial contracts, hedging, and basis trading.

Qualifications and Competencies

British Computer Society Business Analyst Practitioner or equivalent.

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure

The client has locations in the South and North of England. This is a hybrid role, but you will need to be in one of the London or Liverpool offices on a regular basis.
