We are looking for a Data Governance Operations Engineer to join our client, a leading bank in Brussels. In this role, you will be part of the Data Governance team, ensuring the smooth operation of data pipelines, workflows, and governance systems. You will collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to maintain data quality, integrity, and availability across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and optimise Linux-based pipelines for efficient, reliable data flow.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate processing, transformation, and loading.
- Work with data engineers to improve workflows and enhance data quality.
- Create, monitor, and manage Control-M jobs to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with planning teams to execute releases smoothly.
- Analyse logs, troubleshoot failures, and ensure data integrity.
- Identify and resolve data-related incidents, minimising impact on operations.
- Document incidents, solutions, and lessons learned.
- Administer databases, run queries, and resolve connectivity issues.
- Support analysts and engineers in strengthening data governance practices.
- Design and maintain quality checks to ensure accurate, consistent data.
Skills & Experience
- 6+ years’ experience in data analytics or operations.
- Strong expertise in Linux administration, scripting, and data management.
- Experience in job scheduling and release management.
- Knowledge of Ab Initio and data governance principles.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Familiarity with mainframe systems for data integration.
- Previous experience in the banking sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Clear communication with both technical and business stakeholders.
Language requirements
- Fluent English.
- Dutch or French is a plus.
