We are partnering with a client who is expanding their team and seeking a skilled 2nd Line Network Engineer who is passionate about technology, networking, and continuous development. Our client has a strong track record in managing system integration projects across various industries. The ideal candidate will have experience working within the IT Healthcare sector. As a 2nd Line IT Engineer, you will be an integral part of their IT team, serving as an escalation point for technical issues. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining reliable systems, enhancing security, and optimising IT services within the hospital environment. This role is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Respond promptly to 2nd-line support requests from hospital staff.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to networking, servers, and desktop systems.
- Collaborate with 1st-line support and other teams to ensure timely incident resolution.
Infrastructure Management:
- Maintain and configure Cisco networking equipment.
- Monitor backup technologies to safeguard critical hospital data.
- Administer Windows servers and desktops, ensuring smooth operations.
Microsoft 365 and Cloud Services:
- Manage Microsoft 365 applications, including Exchange Online and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with Azure services (desirable).
Virtualization and Remote Access:
- Knowledge of VMware and Citrix environments.
- Troubleshoot remote access issues for hospital staff.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in a 2nd line IT support role.
- Proven expertise in Cisco networking and Windows server administration.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows desktop systems.
- Passion for IT and networking.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a healthcare environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies.
Desirable Skills:
- Cisco CCNA or CCNP.
- Microsoft certifications
- VMware or Citrix certifications
