Interview advice

Congratulations!  You have taken the time to compose your CV and this effort has paid off and you are now at interview stage.  Time taken to prepare for an interview is time well spent.  Well prepared interviewees are more likely to make a positive impression at interview.

Here are a few pointers to help you through the process:

  • Know your CV
  • Plan your journey in advance
  • Consider your response to frequently asked questions, such as your strengths and weaknesses
  • Research the Client
  • Prepare for any technical tests or assessments in advance
  • Familiarise yourself with the job specification and description
  • Think in advance about any questions you may want to ask, such as expansion plans or competitors
  • Cover unspoken objections such as incomplete projects, gaps in employment
  • Dress in appropriate business wear
  • Thank the interviewer for his/her time and ask about timescales for feedback
  • If you are interested in the job say so
  • Feedback to your recruitment consultant
